They love the unpretentious and easygoing ambiance. The people who serve you don’t see themselves as just performing a job; they care about the happiness of our residents and take pride in the extraordinary world we share here.

Our Leadership Team.

Ardenwoods has Department Directors who together with the Executive Director serve as your Leadership Team:

Executive Director
The Executive Director oversees the day-to-day operations of Ardenwoods and directly reports to Life Care Services. Your Executive Director is Debra Campbell, MPH, and she is committed to maintaining the highest standards of service from all departments. She wants you and your family and friends to be comfortable here and appreciates your feedback and ideas about making this community the best that it can be.

Director of Food and Beverage
The Director of Food and Beverage is responsible for your dining experience at Ardenwoods. Brian Good prepares menus, manages all aspects of the kitchen, and assures the highest quality of food is served here. He oversees special events and private parties. The dining room is a comfortable place to eat and socialize, with the superb food service you expect. Brian is also responsible for food service at Heather Glen.

Wellness Director
The Wellness Director is responsible for assisting residents of Ardenwoods with their health and wellness needs. Joanie Burns, RN, is here to coordinate services with health care providers of your choice, including our own home care agency, other home health agencies, pharmacies, durable medical equipment, and physicians. She is available to assist you with accessing these needed services, or helping you to determine exactly what services may be most beneficial to you. Ardenwoods Home Care Agency is a licensed home care agency available to provide private duty staffing in your apartment for assistance with bathing, medication reminders, or even medication administration. You may also stop by to consult with Joanie for a blood pressure check or to consult about any health care concerns you may have.

Social Director
The Social Director is here to make sure Ardenwoods is a fun, stimulating, and active community. Linda Kelly, PhD, is responsible for the development of the monthly calendar. She will implement the ideas of the resident Activity Committee, schedule trips and outings, coordinate fitness instructors, art teachers, speakers, plan parties, and assure that you enjoy your life at Ardenwoods and the many cultural offerings of the Asheville and Hendersonville communities.

Director of Health Services
The Director of Health Services assures the residents of Heather Glen receive the best personal care services, physical assistance, and clinical care to maintain their health and well-being. Anita Mihniak, RN, supervises all of the health services at Heather Glen and coordinates services with other health care providers who serve residents there. You can be assured that if you ever need assisted living services, your needs will be met at Heather Glen.

Director of Plant Operations
The Director of Plant Operations oversees all of the building maintenance, housekeeping services, security officers, and transportation services for the entire Ardenwoods campus. John Watterson has developed a strong team who are committed to keeping our community, including your individual apartment, beautiful, clean, and in good working condition. In addition, he oversees contractors who service our community including landscapers, painters, and waste management personnel.

Director of Accounting
The Director of Accounting manages all financial matters for Ardenwoods. Pam Pate maintains records to accurately bill residents for services rendered and provides you with your monthly statement. Pam oversees all payments to vendors for the community and prepares all financial reports. She is available to answer any questions about your statement.

Director of Human Resources
The Director of Human Resources recruits for vacant positions at Ardenwoods, coordinates new staff orientation, handles worker’s compensation claims, maintains all required paperwork for personnel files, and processes payroll. Christy Thompson, PHR, works closely with the human resources department of Life Care Services which provides us with a wealth of resources related to personnel management. If you have any concerns about the performance of a staff member, you may speak with the appropriate Department Director or inform Christy who will follow-up on your concern.

Director of Marketing
The Director of Marketing is often the first person a prospective resident talks to or meets when they inquire about living at Ardenwoods. Sharlyn Hamilton wants to make sure that the first impression of Ardenwoods is an inviting one. She works closely with the Executive Director to accurately represent the services and amenities offered to prospective residents.
